Bangkok - Finally back again

The flight was quite pleasant, but of course, ten hours in the air always takes a toll on the nerves. But there is also the anticipation of finally being back in this wonderful city, of which I have seen far too little so far.

Two years ago, I was here with my sister. We stayed for only 24 hours on a stopover to Laos. But those 24 hours were enough to make me fall in love with Bangkok. That’s why this time we planned to stay for three days.

After a long night, we finally landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport, with its endlessly long corridors and huge halls. While my partner and son waited for the luggage, I went to exchange money. On the lowest floor, where the Skytrain departs, you can actually find the cheapest currency exchange booths in Bangkok. My personal tip is Superrich, whose services I had already used two years ago.

After I had enough Baht, I went looking for my family and our pre-booked taxi.

Both were quickly found, so soon after we were sitting in our taxi to the hotel. I had booked the same hotel as two years ago because we had been very satisfied with it back then.

For almost an hour, the car struggled through the heavy traffic of this huge city. Anyone who has a hotel near the train or subway line is definitely better off with the Skytrain. However, there is still no subway in the old town, so this was not an option for us.
