The Last Day of Vacation and the Journey Home
The last morning of our holiday began very peacefully. Luckily, the rain had stopped and the sun was slowly emerging from behind the clouds.
After a leisurely breakfast on the terrace, we set off for another long walk through the resort. It was very pleasant to stroll along the sea one more time and enjoy the warming rays of the sun.
We had a cappuccino or two, later relaxed on the loungers by the pool, read, and gazed out over the glittering, azure-blue sea.
It was simply the perfect ending to this beautiful vacation.
In the late afternoon, we drove once more to Kanoba Luciana, where we had eaten so wonderfully on the second day.
This time, I tried an asparagus dish, while my partner went for the traditional Ćevapčići, and my son returned to the truffle delicacies. The food was just as excellent as it had been two days earlier.
After dinner, we returned to the hotel, where it was time to pack our suitcases.
The next morning, we slept in a bit, and then it was time to head off.
At first, the drive went very smoothly. When we reached Slovenia, we stopped at our beloved "Kurvenbar," where we said farewell with truffle burgers.
As soon as we reached the highway in Slovenia, the trouble began—we got caught in one of the longest traffic jams I’ve ever experienced. For hours, nothing moved!
After a very long time, we finally reached Trojane, where we treated ourselves to calamari and the famous doughnuts in the restaurant—a more than well-deserved break.
After that, the traffic jam had fortunately cleared up enough that we were able to get home without any further major delays. Another wonderful holiday had come to an end—we’ll be back.
