Day 7: One Last Time in Morro Jable and an Afternoon by the Pool

Slowly but surely, our holiday was coming to an end – our last full day had begun.

After breakfast, we set off for Morro Jable one more time. This time, though, we didn’t take the car but walked to the charming village along the beautiful beach promenade.

The path led over a hill above the endless white sandy beach. Along the way, we saw stone sculptures here and there.

Palm trees and deep red bougainvilleas – my favourite flowers – lined the path. We even spotted a squirrel on a rock.

Before long, we could see Morro Jable in the distance. At first just a tiny speck, the village quickly grew larger. It sat there so picturesquely, with the dark cliffs in the background and the white beach in the foreground.

At the promenade in Morro Jable, we had a coffee and soaked up the atmosphere.

Then we strolled through the village. We walked once more through the long shopping street, then continued on to the harbour.

From a hill high above the sea, we watched a ferry setting off for Gran Canaria. The view of the harbour from up there was spectacular.

Afterwards, we returned to the village and browsed through a few more shops.

Eventually, it was time to head back. The weather had turned beautiful. We returned the same way we had come – although the perspective going the other way was of course quite different.

By now, the beach was also much busier. We dipped our feet into the water again and enjoyed the warm breeze on our skin.

Back at the hotel, we headed straight to the pool. First, we grabbed a bite to eat at the beach bar.

Then we made ourselves comfortable on our loungers. As always, I had a book with me and was soon completely absorbed in it.

Now and then, I swam a few laps in the pool.

After another delicious dinner, we went for one last walk along the promenade. As so often before, we strolled from shop to shop.

Later, the hotel bar once again featured live music. With a tasty drink in hand, we listened to a fantastic singer. What a perfect way to end a wonderful holiday.
