Lake Ebersdorf

A very special natural paradise is Lake Ebersdorf, a bathing lake in the Mostviertel region.

Although the lake is always very well visited, it radiates an incredible sense of calm and serenity. Nowhere else can I relax so well. That’s why we try to set aside a day for this oasis at least once a year.

It takes about an hour to get from our home to the lake. It is surrounded by gentle hills and forests. All around the lake there are large sunbathing lawns, but also shady woodland spots here and there.

We usually always lie on the lawn just behind the entrance. There is always plenty of space on the expansive grounds.

We always bring our loungers so we can really make ourselves comfortable.

A good book and my famous air mattress are, of course, never missing.

This way, we’ve already spent many beautiful summer days here.

From time to time, a walk around the lake is also recommended. On the way, you cross a small bridge that connects the two shores and offers a great view over the entire lake.

At the inn right by the entrance, you can get the usual swimming area fare – meatloaf rolls, schnitzel, various salads, fries. Culinary-wise it’s nothing special, but it tastes good and is somehow just part of a day at the lake.

At the far end of the lake, there are more places to eat, but we’ve never tried them. Toilets and changing cabins are also available in several places.

When I’m at the lake, I also like to take the time to swim all the way around it. That takes almost an hour, but you get to enjoy a very special perspective of the lake.

By the time we leave the lake, the sun is always already low on the horizon. It’s always beautiful here, and I’m already looking forward to next summer.
