Day 10: Chania and a Relaxing Afternoon

We wanted to spend this day more relaxed again. Right after breakfast, we drove to Chania.

I’ve loved this city for a long time. The winding alleys of the old town, the whitewashed houses in Venetian style, the picturesque harbor – all of it exudes a very special charm. Cozy cafés appear around every corner, and the scent of Greek specialties fills the air.

Chania is a city for strolling and relaxing. In countless shops, you can find everything your heart desires: souvenirs, handicrafts, fashion – everything.

We wandered through the city for several hours, enjoyed delicious coffee, and did some shopping. I found a beautiful dress that has since become one of my favorite summer outfits.

For lunch, we had tasty pitas in a rustic taverna again.

Then we headed back to the hotel, where we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the pool and at the beach.

The air mattress and beach ball were, of course, put to use again.

I read my book, and the three of us swam out into the sea, played in the hot sand, and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon by the water.

In the evening, we treated ourselves to dinner at the beach restaurant. We ordered moussaka, souvlaki, and fresh salad. The delicious food with a view of the vast, open sea and a glass of wine – that’s pure life.

We let the evening end quietly and went to bed early, as we had to get up at 4 a.m. the next day.
