Day 12: A Day at the Beach and Pool and an Evening in Chania

The next morning, we woke up with severe sore muscles. So we decided to spend the day relaxing.

After a wonderful breakfast at the beach bar, we found loungers by the pool, where we spent the rest of the day.

We swam in the pool, and of course, my beloved air mattress was used again.

For hours, I read my exciting book, sometimes on the lounger, sometimes floating on the water.

We also swam in the sea and enjoyed the view of the endlessly long sandy beach.

It was a wonderful, restful vacation day.

In the evening, my partner and I headed back to Chania.

We wandered a bit through the romantic alleys of the old town.

At a cozy fish restaurant, we ordered a wonderful dinner.

Afterwards, we strolled through the souvenir shops of the old town. The atmosphere was magical.

In one boutique, I saw the most beautiful dress I had ever come across – though it wasn’t exactly cheap. I tried it on anyway and was instantly in love. When the shopkeeper, who had also designed the dress, saw me wearing it, she said the dress and I simply belonged together and offered me a generous discount. I still treasure that dress to this day!

Later, we treated ourselves to coffee and ice cream at the harbor.

Then it was time to return to the hotel.
