Day 2: Excursion to Klagenfurt
The next morning, we had a leisurely breakfast in the garden of our guesthouse.
Then we set off for the capital of Carinthia: Klagenfurt. There, we strolled through the romantic alleys of the old town and enjoyed the atmosphere of this historic yet modern city.
Of course, a visit to the famous Lindwurm couldn’t be missed. This landmark of Klagenfurt is located on the Neuer Platz and dates back to the 16th century.
Water flows from the mouth of the winged dragon and pours into a basin. I have seen the Lindwurm many times before, but it is always impressive.
Later, we climbed the tower of the parish church, from where we had a magnificent view over the entire city.
In the afternoon, we took the boat to the Klagenfurt shore of Lake Wörthersee and picked up pizza and cool drinks.
In the middle of the lake, we then had a little “party.” We devoured the pizza, drank cool drinks with and without alcohol, swam in the lake, and enjoyed the fantastic weather and the unique scenery.
We ended the evening tired and very happy, relaxing on the balcony of our guesthouse with a glass of wine.
