Day 2 – Cuxhaven
The next morning we slept in.
Then we went to our friends’ house, just a few streets away. They had prepared a wonderful breakfast.
There were bread rolls, ham, salami, sausage, cheese, and eggs, along with a very welcome cup of coffee.
Afterwards, we drove to Cuxhaven, where we wanted to breathe in some North Sea air.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t particularly good, but at least it didn’t rain.
Once at the beach, we first walked out into the mudflats. My partner had already been to the Wadden Sea before, but I had never experienced it.
The soft sand beneath our feet felt very pleasant. We walked all the way to the water’s edge and even stepped a little into the water.
The water was surprisingly warm. We hadn’t expected that, given the weather.
We enjoyed being by the sea again. I would have loved to swim in it, but it was far too cold for that.
Next, we drove along the beach promenade. At a snack stand, we bought the famous fish sandwiches, which were delicious
Then it was time to head back.
In the late afternoon, we met up with our friends at a nearby inn, where a celebration was taking place that day. We chatted for hours, had a small bite to eat, and later fell into a deep sleep again.
